Help ME! KIT and wireless peripherals

Help Me! kit is JabloPhone (GDP-04i RF) with wireless Panic! button (RC-87). When you press the button the phone will call for help. This way people can call for help even when they cannot reach the phone by hand. It will contact up to 5 other people. For each number you can adjust whether the phone should make a call, send a text message or do both. The reach of button is at least 50m in free space.

You can use up to 10 wireless buttons with one JabloPhone. Wireless peripherals come from the system OASiS manufactured by Jablotron. JabloPhone communicates with them on the frequency 868,5 MHz.

Besides these features you can still use your JabloPhone as a GSM desktop phone. With JabloPhone KIT you will also receive JabloTool software. In JabloTool you will manage your phone from your PC.

You can wear Panic! button as a wrist watch or as a necklace. It is protected from water so you can wear the button even in a shower or when you do the dishes. Ingression protection is IP44. The button is powered by its own battery. Typical battery lifetime is 3 years.

Example: Elderly people who may be in emergency due to sudden drop in their health condition simply press the Help button and the phone will call or send SMS message to relatives, neighbours or social care service.
It may happen that you press the button by accident. If you press the button again within 5 seconds you will cancel the emergency and the phone will not call for help.

Registering of Panic! buttons

The first Help button is already enrolled (registered) in the phone. Use phone menu or JabloTool to enroll more buttons.

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Remote controls > My remote controls > add new,
  2. Press the Help button, it will enrol into the phone,
  3. Give a name to this button (type the name of person who wears this button, e.g. Gran Anne) and select Save. Phone will now mention the name Gran Anne in SMS messages which the phone sends after you pressed the button. Now you can enrol another Help button. Simply follow the same procedure.

JabloTool Desktop Software

  1. Install the SW JabloTool from your CD or download it here. If you installed JabloTool from your CD please update the installed SW. A newer version may be available. Click on the round icon in top left corner and choose Check for updates.
  2. Launch JabloTool and connect your phone by USB cable to the PC
  3. Go to device list, select your phone and choose Configuration > External devices
  4. Select Add new device
  5. Press Panic! button, it will enrol into the phone,
  6. Give a name to this button (type the name of person who wears this button, e.g. Granny Anne)
  7. To enroll another button press “Add new device” again.

After you press the Help button the phone will make a call, send a text message or both. Now enter the phone numbers which the phone should reach. You can add up to 5 contact numbers. For each number you can adjust whether the phone should make a call, send a text message or do both. Use the phone menu or JabloTool.

  2. On the line below adjust whether the phone should make a call, send a text message or both.

  2. Select Add phone number
  3. Select if JabloPhone should make a call, send a text message or both after pressing the button.

Emergency text message

Edit the emergency text message (SMS). The phone will send this message to contact numbers after you press the Help button. Use the phone menu or JabloTool to edit the message.

  2. Edit the text of message.

Emergency voice message

Contact numbers are now configured in your phone. You have already selected numbers of contact persons. Now you can record a voice message into JabloPhone (it is not mandatory). After your contact persons answer your emergency call JabloPhone will play this voice message twice. Voice message will tell the contact person why the other person (e.g. Granny Anne) is calling. It may be useful in case the person in emergency cannot speak. After playing the voice message JabloPhone switches to hands free mode and connects the call.
Use phone menu to record the emergency message

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Remote controls > Voice message
  2. Call your JabloPhone from another phone
  3. Record the voice message. You have as many attempts as you like. The phone will guide you.

Smoke and fire detector

Smoke or fire in your office or at home will activate the Smoke and fire detector (JA-63S 80, JA-82ST or JA-85ST). JabloPhone (GDP-04i RF) will then call for help, it can contact up to 5 numbers. For each number you can adjust whether the phone should make a call, send a text message or do both.

Detector recognizes the presence of fire inside a building. It reacts to visible smoke or when a critical temperature in the room is exceeded. It contains a built-in local warning siren. It is typically mounted on ceiling in a room or hall. Operational range of detector is at least 100m in free space. Detector is powered by battery with typical lifetime of 3 years. Detector complies with EU Directives 98/34/ES and 98/48/ES stating the obligation to mount fire detectors in new buildings.
Example: Detector is activated by smoke and temperature caused by fire. After activation the internal siren of detector sounds. Phone calls and sends SMS messages to the shop owner or to a security agency.

Enrollment of fire detector

Enroll detector into the phone so that phone responds when detector is activated. You can enroll fire detector via phone menu or in JabloTool Desktop.
In the phone menu

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Remote controls > My remote controls > add new
  2. Insert battery into the Fire detector, it will enroll into the phone
  3. Give a name to this detector (typical name would be the place of installation, e.g. Cottage). Phone will now mention the name in SMS messages which it sends after fire alarm
  4. Now you can enroll another detector. Simply press in the line above.

In JabloTool for Desktop

  1. Prepare your software, see more information here
  2. Select Add new device
  3. Insert battery into the Fire detector. It will enroll into the phone
  4. Give a name to this detector (typical name would be the place of installation, e.g. Cottage)
  5. You can enroll more detectors. Simply scroll up and press “Add new device” again.

After the detector is activated the phone will make a call, send a text message or both. Enter the phone numbers which the phone should reach. You can enter up to 5 contact numbers. Use the phone menu or JabloTool.

  2. Enter the phone number and select if the phone should make a call, send text message or both.

Home automation

JabloPhone (GDP-04i RF) can turn ON and OFF heating, air-conditioning or other home appliances. It controls appliances via wireless smart socket (AC-88).

Example: In your room at home you have an additional electrical heating. You connect the power supply of heating via the smart socket. Then you remotely turn on the heating before you come home. You can adjust the period of time for which you turn ON the heating, e.g. for 1 hour.
Smart socket is a do-it-yourself switch. You can remotely turn ON and OFF domestic appliances, lighting, heating, watering, etc. powered by the mains (AC 230V). The operational reach of the socket is at least 100 m in free space.

JabloPhone switches

JabloPhone (GDP-04i RF) is equipped with two virtual switches. By default they are called DeviceX and DeviceY. Turn the Device ON or OFF then the phone will send wireless command to the Smart socket. The socket then turns ON or OFF.
The phone switches work in two modes: ON/OFF and PULSE. The PULSE mode will not find use with Smart socket. So we will only refer to the mode ON/OFF.
Switch will turn ON or OFF and remain in this position until the next command. You can specify the period of time for which the switch should be turned ON. After this time the switch turns OFF again.

Enrolling smart socket

Before you use the smart socket you need to enroll JabloPhone to the smart socket. The socket will then follow the commands of JabloPhone. First reset the socket if some other device was enrolled there before. Then use phone menu to enroll JabloPhone into the socket.
Reset the socket

  1. Unplug the socket from the mains and plug it in again. The LED light will flash for a short moment,
  2. Press and hold the button on the socket within 10 seconds after you plugged it in. Hold the button until the LED starts flashing four times per second,
  3. Release the button to enter the reset mode,
  4. Press the button and hold it again for approx. 3 seconds until the LED indicator goes off. This will reset the socket,
  5. Unplug the socket from the mains.

Enrol JabloPhone into socket

  1. Plug the socket into the mains, LED will flash for a short moment,
  2. Press the socket button within 10 seconds after plugging in. Hold the button until the LED indicator starts flashing once,
  3. Release the button to enter the ON/OFF enrol mode,
  4. In JabloPhone go to Menu, Settings, Wireless Relay
    1. To enroll the socket into DeviceX: select Enroll a new Relay,
    2. To enroll the socket into DeviceY:
      1. select Enroll a new Relay,
      2. wait for 2 seconds,
      3. select Enroll a new Relay once more.
  5. Press button on the smart socket to exit its enroll mode.

JabloPhone is now enrolled in the smart socket. You can turn the socket ON or OFF.

You can enroll more wireless sockets into DeviceX or DeviceY. The number of sockets enrolled in one device is not limited. All sockets in one Device will switch ON or OFF at the same time.

Configuration of virtual switch

Before you start using Turn Me On kit you should configure the switch DeviceX on your JabloPhone. You will set the switch to ON/OFF mode. You can also rename the DeviceX e.g. to Heating. You can do the configuration either in the phone menu or in Jablotool for desktop.

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Wireless relay > Settings > DeviceX > Rename,
  2. Rename the DeviceX, e.g. to Heating,
  3. Go to Mode on the line below,
  4. Choose the ON/OFF mode DeviceX.

In JabloTool for Desktop

  1. Prepare your software, see more information here
  2. Select the ON/OFF mode of Device X,
  3. You can also rename the DeviceX, e.g. to Heating.

Turning the smart socket ON and OFF

Now you have finished configuration. You can turn the smart socket ON or OFF. You can turn the socket ON or OFF by SMS message from your mobile phone. You can also use the phone menu or PC software JabloTool. Besides this you can always turn the socket ON or OFF by pressing the red button on the socket.
By text message (SMS)
Send an SMS message in the format to the number of the phone. Examples show you which SMS commands you can use.
ON DeviceX will turn ON the DeviceX
OFF DeviceX will turn OFF the DeviceX
ON DeviceX 02:30:00 will turn on the DeviceX for 2 hours and 30 minutes
ON HEATING 02:30:00 will turn on the DeviceX called HEATING for 2 hours and 30 minutes
You will find help on writing SMS commands also in the phone menu. Go to Menu > Settings > Wireless relay > Help.
In phone menu
Go to Menu > Settings > Wireless relay > Switch manually > Device X on/off.

Press the button on the line DeviceX.
